Cyrenians Employment Support Agency

Descriptions

The Cyrenians Supported Employment Agency will offer severely excluded and disadvantaged adults in the Swansea Bay area structured support towards and into employment. It will do this by:Contributing to overcoming barriers to employment that have arisen through circumstance or lifestyle by arranging access to volunteering and employment through employment support that not only helps people into work but also helps them to sustain it.The Agency will effectively operate as an Intermediate Labour Market initiative for those furthest from the labour market in the Swansea Bay Area, predominantly as a result of long periods of unsettled living. It will build on best practice arising from other models in the UK that take into account the significant support needs of this section of the community, as well as developing innovative solutions appropriate to Swansea.A key element to the successful provision of the Agency's services will be its capacity to build relationships and liaise effectively with the Department for Work and Pensions, employers, social enterprises and organisations assisting vulnerable adults - as well as relating empathetically with the users of the service.During the term of the contract it is required that 718 people will have gained employment as a result of accessing employment based support, including work experience, work trials and apprenticeships.Because of existing relationships with the target group(s) in the area of benefit, the Supported Employment Agency service will delivered from the Sponsor's premises. Since there will be no break in service delivery in respect of existing staff, TUPE arrangements will apply. Further, due to the nature of the target, the following will be required of all delivery staff: statutory standards for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults; and Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check. It is expected that publicity and information materials about the service will be available in both English and Welsh.
