The Cyrenians Cymru Vocational Training Project will offer severely excluded and disadvantaged adults in the Swansea Bay area training and support that enables people to achieve knowledge, skills and confidence th at lead to progression to further education, training and employment.In particular, the following four programmes of training are to be targeted at adults who are furthest away from the labour market as a result of long periods of unsettled living and/or significant support needs.1) Accredited training, including the following: Life Skills, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), creative industries, ICT and vocational training.2) Training in environmental recycling, social enterprise and work related skills focused on craft development, restoration, joinery and boat building and repair3) Training in overcoming barriers to employment including life-skills to assist progress to work - including overcoming health barriers, cookery training, food hygiene, rural skills and social enterprise development.4) Training in all aspects of retail, as well as providing participants with work experience. The deliverer will be expected to build up partnerships with private sector retail organizations to maximize chances for moving into work.
