Delivery of Design Coding for Blackpool

Blackpool Council is seeking to procure the services of a highly experienced multi-disciplinary consultancy team to assist the Council in delivering innovative Design Codes for Blackpool. Blackpool has recently been allocated funding by the Office for Place at the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) to participate in the Design Code Pathfinder Programme 2024 - 2025. This will involve progressing work on setting clear quality design requirements through developing a new and innovative authority-wide Design Code that specifically responds to the following themes: - Supporting levelling up and regeneration with a Design Code for an area with lower values, designed to encourage greater investment in development; and - Street Design Focus developed in partnership with the Local Highways Authority In addition the Office for Place through the programme wish to explore with the Council the potential to include other themes with a particular focus on coding for non-residential areas.
