Bron Afon requires a contractor to deliver internal, external and environmental improvements to a sheltered housing complex. The complex comprises of 8 bungalows, 7 bedsits and 7 flats built around a central courtyard seating area Built in 1969 the remodelling will adapt the building to meet the needs of the client group.The works are likely to include•Achieving compliance with D.D.A. and R.N.I.B. design guidance • Conversion of bedsits to 1 or 2 bed apartments/ Remodelling of internal communal facilities • A communal bathroom with hoists for assisted bathing • A communal wet room/walk in shower• Buggy store/recharge facilities • A communal lounge for residents• A communal kitchen for pre-prepared food and hot drinks• One guest bedroom with on suite shower and toilet• Lift or stair lift• Access to communal space • Secure boundaries and landscape treatment• Communal Laundry facilities if not able to accommodate space for washer/dryers in individual units of accommodation• Appropriate lighting and security, Electronic front doors• Bin stores for recycling and waste (external preferably)It is anticipated that the works will commence September 2010 with completion in 4 months.
