Descriptions
The Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers who would be interested in delivering the Community Alarm Service.The City and County of Swansea has provided a Community Alarm Service, known as “Lifeline” since the late 1980s. The service is a vital form of support for older and vulnerable adults and allows them to live independently. The service consists of a “Lifeline” telephone unit and wearable pendant/wrist band which connects to a 24 hour call monitoring centre via a telephone line.The purpose of the Community Alarm Service will be to provide:1, Installations for all Lifeline equipment and other Telecare equipment2, Call monitoring 24 hours a day for all Lifeline units and to arrange for the appropriate response necessary.3, Disaster recovery for call monitoring as necessitated by legislation4, Maintenance including call outs to replace equipment, batteries and to rectify faults accordingly.5, Regular testing of all systems and infrastructureExpressions of interest may include provision for one, some or all of the service specification points above.The Council are also keen to explore provider’s future vision for the accessibility of wider assistive technology products to service users and to transform the existing service accordingly.This speculative notice has been published to gauge interest from potential providers in delivering this service.Other info:Please note this is a speculative notice and not a contract notice.
