Tidal Energy Limited (TEL) is a privately owned technology development company exclusively developing an innovative tidal stream generator, known as DeltaStream. TEL has identified a demonstration test site at Ramsey Sound, Pembrokeshire and is in the process of obtaining the necessary consent licences to install the prototype device for a 12 month test period in 2011.TEL operates a relatively small management team and employs external contractors to provide specialist services to the project. Under this contract TEL requires the services of an experienced intellectual property advisor to support the installation of the 1.2MW prototype DeltaStream tidal energy generator (www.tidalenergyltd.com). The services required by the successful applicant include:•Providing suitable and sufficient advice and assistance to TEL in order to help them achieve successful patent applications in the UK, Europe and Internationally•To ensure that adequate arrangements are in place for the management, assignment and enforcement of new and existing patents•Advise TEL on the suitability of submitting or opposing applications•Prepare new patent applications (UK, European and International) on the request of TEL as the design and installation of the device progress
