Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest for the supply of potentially 5no. salt spreaders & 2no. hotboxes.The spreaders and hotboxes will be required to be fitted within the tipping bodies of 18 tonne vehicles and 7.5 tonne vehicles (2 spreaders in the 18 tonne vehicles, 3 spreaders in 7.5 tonne vehicles and 1 hotbox in an 18 tonne vehicle and 1 hotbox in a 7.5 tonne vehicle). The bodies will be required to be lifted into place using a backhoe loader or by using collapsible legs. Full requirements will be required of any modifications/upgrades required to vehicle specifications to ensure safety of the salt spreaders and hotboxes when in situ. The Contracting Authority is currently developing its vehicle body specifications.This is a scoping exercise that is seeking to identify potential suppliers in the marketplace that can also offer full maintenance support.
