We are inviting interested parties to apply to be included on a select list of tenderers for the provision of a design and build contract for a new skate park for the City of Newport, replacing an existing skate park facility at Newport International Sports Village.The new skate park is to be located at Tredegar Park, in the West of the City of Newport. Please note that only a maximum of 6 companies will be included on the finalised select list, and these companies will be selected from a series of pre qualification questions based on:- Experience of design and construction of skate parks- Financial standing (full financial background checks will be completed by the Local Authority)- ROSPA certification of designs- references from other Clients/Local AuthoritiesIt should also be noted that interested parties should only apply if they can meet the following deadlines for the delivery of the project:- Tender period 16.12.11 to 27.01.12 (5 week tender period, 1 week deducted Christmas shut down)- Expected contract award by 17.02.12 - Design completion (with consultation meetings) by 23.03.12 (5 week design period)- Commencement of construction on site 09.04.12 (2 week mobilisation included from 23.03.12)- Construction duration 12 weeks- Skate Park completion and opening (with full ROSPA certification) 29.06.12NB: Project and scheme budget is estimated at £175,000 to £220,000 to date, subject to confirmation by the project sponsor. Designs should therefore be completed for the minimum budget and options will be required to be provided to extend designs towards the full budget (final design options to be chosen by the client).
