Valleys to Coast (V2C) are seeking to appoint specialist marketing consultants for two years to prepare and manage a marketing programme for the Big Lottery-funded engagement programme ‘Transforming Open Spaces’.V2C, in partnership with three other Housing Associations in South Wales (Bron Afon, Tai Calon and United Welsh), have recently been awarded Big Lottery funding to promote regeneration and environmental training to tenants and residents in social housing estates. The programme, called Transforming Open Spaces, contains learning components around estate design, natural play, perceptions of safety in the built environment, biodiversity, facilities for older and younger people, sustainable drainage systems etc. Elements of this programme have already been delivered by V2C through their ‘Community Design Training’ and through the Bron Afon ‘Green Futures’ programme.These courses were well received and very enjoyable for participants, but the partners recognise the challenges of promoting this course across the four housing association areas, to a target audience with a wide range of educational backgrounds and experience of learning environments. A fixed sum of £25,000 exclusive of VAT has been included in the lottery grant to engage a marketing consultant for the two-year duration of the programme, on the understanding that engaging and retaining participants to the programme will be fundamental to its success.The programme requires that we engage with 500+ participants over two years, across five local authority areas (Cardiff, Caerphilly, Bridgend, Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent), primarily to those areas with a high proportion of social housing.The services required are:•To work with client to fully develop brief and detail of community benefits.•Carry out interviews, focus groups and surveys as necessary to determine how best to approach potential participants in the programme.•Produce marketing and advertising strategy based on the above research to engage with primarily with social housing tenants and residents in target communities•Design and produce advertising materials based on the above research, potentially including but not limited to leaflets, posters, website, facebook, twitter and blog page•To maintain electronic communication forums for the two-year duration of the project, facilitating staff and participants to enter content.•To design and produce a final report on the activities of the programme, with content from participants, officers and social media.•It is a condition of Big Lottery funding that all publicity materials will be produced bilingually
