Display cases. The Victoria and Albert Museum is inviting expressions of interest from museum Showcase Specialist Contractors to carry out detailed design, technical design, fabrication and installation of display cases for the Exhibitions Department. The cases will be used to display different objects as part of a rotating temporary exhibition programme. The first exhibition that they are required for opens in November 2015.The cases will be bespoke cases required to comply with the specification and design as further defined in the Invitation to Tender documents. In addition to meeting the conservation, access and security requirements detailed in the Invitation to Tender, the cases must also be suitable for reuse in different gallery spaces. The Showcase Contractor must be able to demonstrate recent experience in detailed design, technical design, development, manufacture and installation of cases in museum/historic buildings environments. The Designers for the project are an internal team. The appointment of the Showcase Contractor is anticipated to be 24.4.2015, with the case installation to be completed by 30.10.2015.
