Design, manufacture and installation of membrane bio-reactors and grease separators including traini
Descriptions
Machinery and apparatus for filtering or purifying water. The requirement for MBRs to be introduced in-service within Royal Navy vessels has been brought about by the requirements laid down within Marpol 73/78 Annex IV, revised in 2006 with the adoption of MEPC 159 (55) — revised guidelines on implementation of effluent standards and performance tests for sewage treatment plants and USCG/Alaska 33CFR159.309 — and therefore MBRs must comply with these specifications. The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) is seeking a contractor to undertake project management activities, design, sourcing and supply of components and installation of MBR equipments into 1 in number LPD in accordance with a design to be agreed with the MOD. MBRs will need to be built in site due to the lack of room to transit any large individual item into the appropriate ship's space. It is envisaged that the successful contractor will be required to carry out as a minimum the following activities:– Plan and manage all activities necessary to design, supply and install, set to work and commission MBRs;– Liaise and contract with experts and other stakeholders (e.g. Dockyard staff);– Produce all required documentation including project management plans, risk management plans, safety case, safety and environmental plans;– Produce a Training Needs Analysis Report and undertake training of ships staff.
