EXPRESSIONS OF INTERESTGwynedd Council are looking to work jointly with providers, an individual or a local business that are interested in developing the kitchen at Canolfan y Gwystl, Y Ffôr, Pwllheli (Cegin Dwyfor).The intention of the proposed service is to:•Provide training and work experience opportunities for the adults with a learning disability that we support, to enable them to learn personal and life skills along with work skills. The training and work experience opportunities could include:oProviding opportunities for the people we support in Cegin Dwyfor and/or through a meals on wheels or luncheon club.oProviding training opportunities to the people that we support in Cegin Dwyfor in fields such as catering skills, food safety and hospitality training.•Provide a nutritious meals on wheels service (for a fee) to the local population.•Provide a nutritious luncheon club for a fee to older or vulnerable people in the local community.•Provide services that are shaped and developed to deliver interventions that are focussed on progression, active support and positive behaviour support.•Provide services that empower people to live fulfilled lives.•Work jointly with, and develop opportunities as part of Cegin Dwyfor café.•Develop ‘afternoon tea’ opportunities as part of Cegin Dwyfor.•Work jointly to develop the ‘Popty Prysur’ service.The scheme’s objectives•Provide new services that concentrate on developing a local community hub.•Provide services that enable individuals to maintain a good level of health whilst promoting and expanding people’s independence.•Make a positive difference to people’s lives and reduce / prevent the need for social care services. Enable individuals to live their lives as independent as possible.•Individuals to further develop their skills and develop self-confidence.•Promote the use of social enterprises, co-operative organisations, co-operative arrangements and third sector organisations to provide care and support services and preventative services in the local area.Gwynedd Council are willing to support the provider with this project, and are willing to renovate the kitchen to the provider’s specification.
