Developing an Employer Liaison Service
Descriptions
Social Care Wales is the regulator of the social care workforce in Wales. That means we register practitioners, set standards of practice and make sure workers are fit to practise. We are also responsible for developing and improving the workforce, improving services, setting priorities for research and gathering data. We are funded by the Welsh Government. At present we offer a range of outward facing, employer and employee centred services, some of which has had to be amended and adapted during the current COVID-19 pandemic. We now wish to consider the options as to how we can have an organisational approach to how we provide information, advice, guidance and support to employers - based on their needs and our business requirements. This would need to include an understanding of what employers want from us and the support that we can provide. It needs to be a service that provides advice and guidance to the sector around our business areas such as:- registration including specific advice and guidance on registration for adult care home workers under voluntary registration until March 2022- fitness to practise including training to support employers- standards of practice expected and relevant support when standards not met- resources available to support them and their workforce- signposting and/or providing tailored supportLastly it needs to be a service that draws in the intelligence from the sector and creates a mechanism to develop themes and trends which inform future responses of guidance, resources and support to the sector that is much more predictive and preventativeThis needs to build on and develop, a range of well received offers that already exist. It will naturally require a continuation of these offers, whilst a new, organisational wide offer is created.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=104238.
