Explosives:Depth Charge Tetryl Replacement — In support of conventional munitions manufacture and stock management the Defence General Munitions Project Team (DGM PT) has a requirement for the replacement of the Tetryl elements within the Depth Charge Fuze comprising the Detonator and Booster. The requirement also includes Fuze conversion work on a portion of the existing Fuzes to create a shallow setting — instruction will be provided for this element. The replacement explosive must have the ability to initiate the main charge (Torpex 8) following the explosive train (Initiator, Booster leading to the Main charge).The DC MK 11, in various modification states, has been in service since the early part of World War II and used as Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW).
