Caerphilly County Borough Council has recently secured funding from the Welsh Government’s Rural Communities Rural Development Programme (RDP) via the Cwm a Mynydd LEADER Rural Development Programme (which itself is part of the Welsh Government’s Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme and is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government) to implement the ‘DigiBEES Pilot Project (DBPP).The aim of the DBPP is to identify, develop and trial a digital tracking solution that works on honeybees and to create resources that share this learning with our stakeholders and the wider LEADER RDP community. A pre-procurement development exercise has been undertaken and a working relationship with beekeepers established.The DBPP has been identified through our work with local beekeepers that wish to add value to their knowledge and in the information that they can provide to the public and schools to better advance understanding in pollinators and honeybees and their movements.Knowledge and data arising from the DBPP will be used in education and discussion about honeybee movements with Cwm a Mynydd’s programme partners and used to inform public discussion on the life activities of honeybees.Bidders should refer to the attached Procurement Document for full details of the requirement.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=87713.
