The Scottish Court Service (SCS) requires the provision of a reliable, non-proprietary digital audio recording system (DAR) for use in recording court proceedings in courtrooms throughout mainland Scotland (and the Islands).The new DAR system must be user-friendly and be capable of converting the audio signal from the various microphones into a digital format and then store it as a computer file. The proposed system must allow multi-channel recording of the court's proceedings and store the recording in a digital format with a continuous time stamp. The new system will be capable of playing back a portion of the recording while continuing to record. It should be capable of recording and securely storing audio files in a server system which is easily searchable and shareable.
