1. The City of London Corporation manages 2,900 homes spread across 13 estates, with two in the Square Mile and the remainder in the six surrounding London Boroughs: - Avondale Square Estate (Southwark) - City of London and Gresham Almshouses (Lambeth) - Dron House, Whitechapel (Tower Hamlets) - Golden Lane Estate (City of London) - Holloway Estate (Islington) - Horace Jones House (Southwark) - Isleden House (Islington) - Middlesex Street Estate (City of London) - Southbank Estates (Southwark) - Sydenham Hill Estate (Lewisham) - William Blake Estate (Southwark) - Windsor House (Hackney) - York Way Estate (Islington) 2. We are seeking a provider to complete a comprehensive access audit for the public areas on these estates, except for Middlesex Street Estate, which was audited earlier in 2022. 3. The audits are intended to assess the accessibility of the common parts of these estates and make recommendations for improvements if required. 4. The audits should assess estate approaches, entrances and internal communal areas, and identify barriers to access for disabled users. 5. The criteria used to assess the common parts should include: - Equality Act 2010 and associated code of practice - BS8300-1-2018 -Design of an accessible inclusive built environment - Part 1, External Environment Code of Practice - BS8300-2-2018 - Design of an accessible inclusive built environment - Part 2 Buildings Code of Practice - The Building Act 1984, Approved Document M 2015 Edition Volume 1 - Access to and use of buildings, volume 1: dwellings - The Building Act 1984, Approved Document M 2015 Edition Volume 2 - Access to and use of buildings, volume 2: buildings other than dwellings - BS9999:2017 Code of Practice for fire safety in the design, management and use of buildings. - Revised Lifetime Homes Standard - Published 5 July 2010 by Habinteg - Wheelchair Housing Design Guide - Third Edition Published by Habinteg 6. The assessments should result in a final document or documents, either one report with sections for each estate, or separate reports, containing clear recommendations and assessments of priority/urgency. 7. We would like the project to begin in July 2022 and to be completed by September 2022. 8. The total cost of this project should not exceed £25,000.
