Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Primary Care Identification and Referral Pathway (DASV IRP)

Service aim: The overall aim of this service is to improve early identification and response to the needs of individuals experiencing/impacted by or engaging in DASV, in the primary care setting. This will enable a needs led response to patients and their families and facilitate a trauma informed response to provide support and reduce the risk of future harm. The service will develop a primary care identification and referral pathway to address the needs of women, men, children and young people experiencing or impacted by abuse and also individuals engaging in abusive behaviour. The service will offer provision of experienced DASV workers to establish links and working relationships with the general practices in their areas to provide DASV specialist training in early identification, routine enquiry, risk and need assessment and safety/support planning. In addition, the service will deliver a clear and comprehensive pathway for GPs and practice staff to refer into DASV services; acting as a SPOC and assisting in more complex cases, when necessary. The contract would provide a locality service that provides domestic abuse specialist practitioners situated across the mid, west and east of Cornwall in keeping with the 3 Integrated Care Areas.
