Domestic Abuse Dispersed Refuge and Supported Accommodation

This contract is for the provision of an accommodation based Housing Related Support Service for people experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse:•Age 18+•Female or male•With or without childrenThe service aims to enable vulnerable, men and women to gain or maintain the skills needed to sustain their accommodation by empowering and enabling people to flee domestic abuse or prevent its reoccurrence. People will then be supported to take control of their finances, understand their obligations as householders and improve their life skills thereby reducing the likelihood of experiencing homelessness.Support offered will be in accordance with the Welsh Government’s Supporting People Programme Guidance (June 2013):http://wales.gov.uk/docs/desh/publications/130607sppgrantguideen.pdfThe service is expected to contribute to the Welsh Government’s Supporting People Programme National Outcomes Framework and promote:•Personal and Community Safety•Independence and Control•Economic Progress and Financial Control•Health and WellbeingThe service is also expected to contribute to Wrexham County Borough Council’s corporate priority outcomes.E3: “People can prosper as individuals in their communities”PE3: “People feel, and are, safe and secure”At any one time, the service will provide housing related support to 5 women or men and their children who are experiencing or are at risk of domestic abuse. Support will be delivered at 5 dispersed properties across the County Borough of Wrexham with the Support Provider expected to enter into a lease agreement with the landlord, Wrexham County Borough Council. The properties will be used to deliver direct access refuge accommodation (3 units of accommodation) and supported accommodation (2 units of accommodation).The support provided will enable service users to gain or retain their self reliance and remain living as independently as possible in the community.The service will support service users at different levels of support determined on the basis of their assessed needs.
