The City of Edinburgh Council wishes to appoint three suitably qualified and experienced contracting organisations to undertake flooring works to domestic properties under a term contract agreement.Generally the works will include the supply and install of carpet, vinyl, tiling and specialist flooring (wet room flooring etc.) and flooring repair works.Contractors must be able to respond and complete the flooring works within five days of the works order being issued.The Contractors shall provide all necessary services to carry out the works let under this contract.The contract will run from December 2012 to November 2015 with an option to extend the contract for a further twelve months to November 2016. The estimated total cost of the works is anticipated at approximately GBP 900,000 over the four years of the contract.It should be noted that the volume and value of projects instructed under this contract are indicative of historical work programmes and cannot be guaranteed. No claim for loss of profit, direct or indirect disruption costs or loss/expense will be considered where the volume and value of the works instructed under this contract varies from those stated.The majority of works orders issued under this contract will range from GBP 50 - GBP 1200, however, on occasions may be higher than this value.The Council shall retain the right to assess the performance of the appointed organisations on an annual basis and, where appropriate, terminate the contract without payment for loss of profit or abortive costs.The selection process shall seek to identify those organisations offering the services that are considered to be the most economically advantageous to the Council. It is envisaged that six organisations will be invited to tender.
