Drainage Emergency Repairs and Call Outs
Descriptions
Applications are invited from suitable and qualified drainage companies who wish to be considered for inclusion on a Framework of Contractors who can carry out repairs and unblocking to drainage problems mainly on a domestic scale. It is envisaged that the contract will also include emergencies that arise during the day and for out of hours calls and weekend call outs.Companies should be aware that there is likely to be a change in the responsibility for drainage, this is subject to Parliamentary and National Assembly for Wales approval of the Regulations. It is envisaged that all gravity private sewers and private lateral drains, which communicate with the public sewerage system, will transfer to the Water and Sewerage Companies in England and Wales on 1st October 2011. The Council is of the opinion that there will be certain exclusions from this transfer, one those being pumping stations and certain repairs. It is important that it is highlighted to prospective companies that there is no guarantee or set amount of work being issued on a regular basis throughout this contract. The Council are not in a position to offer a guarantee of works through this contract due to the level of uncertainty of the pending transfer of drains and sewers.Applicants must have a proven track record in undertaking this type of work. It is anticipated that the work will be a two year framework agreement commencing May 1st 2011, with a view to negotiating an extension for a further two years subject to satisfactory performance being achieved and maintained.
