Public road transport services. Taxi services. Non-scheduled passenger transport. Hire of passenger transport vehicles with driver. Hire of passenger cars with driver. Hire of buses and coaches with driver. The Dorset County Council Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the Provision of Passenger Transport incorporates 4 Lots. This is a list of the contract requirements that are anticipated to be required during the period of 10.3.2014 to 31.5.2014. All providers selected to the relevant lot of the DPS will be invited to submit tenders for specific contract requirements. The award of contracts will be made wholly on an evaluation of the price tendered and the successful tender will be the lowest bid received.Lot 1: Public Transport (vehicles over 16 seats)Two routes are anticipated for Lot 1 during the period of this notice. They are likely to be in the West Dorset area with an estimated value of 100 000 GBP combined over a period of 2 years.Lot 2: Bus and Coach Transport (vehicles over 8 seats)Two home to school transport routes are anticipated for Lot 2 during the period of this notice with an estimated value of 20 000 GBP combined over 4 years. Estimated values are based on council spend over the same period for previous years.Lot 3: Specially Adapted Vehicle TransportTransport services anticipated include wheelchair accessible vehicle transport for special education needs children to attend school, looked after children to attend school or visits to family, and for vulnerable adults to attend day care centres. Two routes are anticipated with an estimated value of 41 000 GBP combined over a contract period ranging between 1 and 4 years depending on the needs of the passengers. Estimated values are based on council spend over the same period for previous years.Lot 4: Taxi TransportTransport services anticipated include routine taxi transport for home to school transport for mainstream school children, special education needs children to attend school, looked after children to attend school or visits to family, and for vulnerable adults to attend day care centres. Twenty Four routes are anticipated with an estimated value of 254 000 GBP combined over a contract period ranging between 1 and 4 years depending on the needs of the passengers. Estimated values are based on council spend over the same period for previous years.In addition to the requirements listed above, the DPS may be used to tender urgent transport routes that arise during the period of this notice. This may include tenders for immediate transport requirements that have a significant social impact, or where an existing provider fails to deliver a route with immediate effect.
