Early Years Covid Recovery Childminder Mentor Programme
Descriptions
**THIS PIN NOTICE IS TO NOTIFY SUPPLIERS OF A POTENTIAL UPCOMING REQUIREMENT THAT WILL BE ADVERTISED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION - Educational and Children's Social Care Professionals DPS (ECSC DPS)** **THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION** Evidence tells us that the quality of education and care in early years has the biggest impact on children's outcomes within a childcare setting. As such, we have designed a programme for early years focused on supporting practitioners, who are key to supporting the youngest children. The Department for Education (DfE) is looking for a delivery partner to support with a new strand of the existing Early Years Experts and Mentors programme, exclusively for childminders. More information on the current programme is available by clicking the link below. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/early-years-experts-and-mentors-programme The childminder programme will be a peer-to-peer support programme, requiring current childminders to apply for the role of Mentor, to support other childminders. The DfE will also be looking a number of candidates to fulfil the role of Area Lead, which involves providing support to Mentors in their locality. Support provided by this programme will be predominately virtual. The DfE requires a delivery partner to oversee the logistical aspects of this programme. The successful bidder will utilize their expertise and understanding of the early years sector to fulfil a number of activities. This will include but is not limited to managing the recruitment process of candidates to act as Mentors and Area Leads, including assessing applications and completing video interviews, organising the matching of candidates to childminders in need of support, and collecting feedback and management information from various parties on a regular basis throughout the programme. The role will also involve contact and communications with local authorities and the DfE Stronger Practice Hubs. The DfE intends to undertake a procurement exercise to appoint a suitably experienced organisation, or individual(s), to provide programme support for the Early Years Experts and Mentors Childminder programme. The DfE will be holding a market engagement event on 1st September 2022 14:00 - 15:00. If you wish to attend the market engagement event, you must register for the event via the registration page. The registration page can be accessed by using the link below.
