Descriptions
The East West Rail (EWR) project proposes the introduction of direct passenger and freight services between Oxford / London Marylebone and Milton Keynes / Bedford by reconstructing and upgrading the partially discussed Bicester-Bletchley-Bedford and Princes Risborough- Aylesbury-Claydon Junction routes. The project is multi-disciplinary, includes a mixture of railway and non-railway works both under a possession and non-possession working environment. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of the works 3 contractors (Laing O'Rourke Construction Limited, VolkerRail Limited, Atkins Limited) have formed an alliance with Network Rail.
