NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group invites applications for the delivery of EDISS (Eating Disorders in Students Service).The aim of the EDISS (Eating Disorders in Students Service) is to provide fast, easily accessible access to expert information and specialist assessment for students who experience disordered eating or have concerns about their relationship with food.EDISS will be an education, assessment and treatment service, supporting early identification and intervention for mild to moderate eating disorders within Primary Care. The Service will provide targeted and accessible ‘drop-in clinics' located on the main campuses of Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham.The Service will be delivered by eating disorders specialists, who are able to provide immediate one to one clinical assessments and offer advice, information, brief intervention and courses of psychological therapy to prevent an escalation of symptoms. The Service will be able to effectively and safely assess patients in accordance with NICE guidance, including risk assessment, psychosocial assessment and suicide risk.The provider will deliver the following outcomes:Increase awareness of eating disorders amongst students, using targeted information and resources, which are relevant and appropriate to specific patient groups.Provide an informal and accessible route for patients to seek advice and information about disordered eating or concerns about their relationship with food.Facilitate early intervention to prevent the escalation of symptoms and chronicity of eating disorders in patients who access the Service. Provide immediate physical and psychological assessment for patients who present with disordered eating symptoms with links to specialist servicesWork with commissioners and key stakeholders including colleges, universities, GP Practices, specialist eating disorders services and support groups to share experience and knowledge in relation to identifying and supporting young people with eating disorders.Work collaboratively with existing eating disorders services to ensure a robust clinical pathway is in place. Effective partnership working will be required with various other providers including Nottinghamshire Eating Disorders Service (NEDS), local CAMHS Eating Disorders service and out of area services as required.Offer brief intervention and psychological therapy treatment packages, which are tailored to the patient's level of clinical risk and their presenting eating disorder.Improved patient experience of seeking help for eating disorder symptomsPromotion of patient self-care and self-management that is tailored to the student target group.
