Education Building at Bryngarw Park

This document is an Invitation to Tender for the design and build of a timber framed educational building on the site of Bryngarw Country Park.Members of staff at Bryngarw Park currently deliver a variety of educational programmes to various schools across South East Wales. Our Visitor Information Centre, located next to the car park, is used as a multipurpose building where the delivery of these programmes is currently undertaken. This building serves many purposes rendering it unable to be designated to deliver all core objectives. Our core objectives are:•To provide visitor information throughout the course of a full week•Provide an interactive experience for visitors•Information of upcoming events and programmes through the Trust•A café offering drinks and variety of hot and cold meals•Toilet facilities (including disabled access)•Meeting room for use by community and staff within Awen Cultural Trust•Room hire•Education classroom fully equipped with educational resourcesBased on the above needs, it is necessary to build a brand-new dedicated education centre. In doing so it will allow the existing Visitor Information Centre to be redeveloped into a full-time centre that is fit for purpose, becoming a true hub for promoting and interpreting the local natural and cultural heritage.
