Cumbria County Council wishes to acquire an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) to deliver effective and efficient records management practices across the County Council. The EDRMS will manage electronic records received, created and used by Cumbria County Council. The project is to be delivered by the end of the financial year 2014/15 within a budget to be finalised.The project will assess EDRM systems that meet the requirements of the authority with a view to acquiring the product which best meets the business need. Comprehensive implementation of electronic records management involves a number of key areas:— Introducing, integrating and configuring a software package (EDRMS).— Included in the above application are capabilities such as workflow, document management and case management (EDMS).— Culture change management and training.— Wider infrastructure change issues eg. enterprise content management, line of business applications and e-government platforms.— Intellectual control issues - business classification scheme, retention and disposal scheduling, vocabulary, metadata quality, version control, security and access control.— Business benefit realisation.— Business process re-engineering.
