143/EML/C/13 Loom and Creel (2 Lots)Description of Requirement:A turnkey solution is required to enable us to weave high performance fibres and technical fabrics of 2D, 3D multilayer and cellular structures to be developed for various composites applications.Lot 1.An advanced computer controlled dobby loom, preferably with a rapier weft insertion is required. Tenderers are invited to submit proposals for alternative solutions to this requirement. The warp yarns will be fed to the loom from a creel (the creel will be addressed in Lot 2).Lot 2.The creel is to be designed for the purpose of housing high performance reinforcing fibres, particularly glass, carbon, kevlar and basalt, and feeding them to the loom detailed in Lot 1.Tenderers may submit for one or both lots as appropriate.Process and Tenders:This is an open eu procurement procedure.
