Employment and Skills DPS CAT 5 Destination Management
Descriptions
The Councils (Leeds City Council, Wakefield Council, Kirklees Council, Calderdale Council and Bradford Council) and WYCA are seeking bids from organisations or individual to provide professional consultancy to develop a Destination Management Plan for West Yorkshire Region. The successful development of the plan will be reliant on engagement with public & private sector stakeholders and securing their support. The Destination Management Plan (DMP) will be a 'shared statement of intent to manage the destination over a stated period, articulating the roles of the different stakeholders and identifying clear actions that they will take and the apportionment of resources' The DMP needs to identify the priorities, and the interventions that will add real value to the visitor economy across the whole area and the individual destinations within it. In 2019, the economic impact of the visitor economy across West Yorkshire was worth £2.43bn with 60.26m visitors entering the region. Visit Leeds, Experience Wakefield, Visit Calderdale, Visit Bradford and Kirklees Council are the current Destination Marketing Organisations for the West Yorkshire Region; core funded by their respective Councils, working with partners and stakeholders to amplify the value of the visitor economy and to present their respective areas as an attractive destination in which to visit, live, work, study and invest.
