Employment-Based Trainee Adult Social Work Programme

Descriptions

The London Borough of Lambeth is offering up to three of its adult social care employees the opportunity to train as social workers by completing a Higher Education Institute (HEI) social work degree programme as part of its employment-based route (EBR) scheme. Successful applicants will be requires to pay 50% of the tuition fees which will be refunded by the council on successful completion of the first year of academic study. Applications will primarily be invited from employees to study at under-graduate level, although the successful HEI must be willing to consider applications from suitably qualified employees to study at Master’s Level. The local authority has a good history of supporting staff to gain qualifications in all areas of professionalism and in particular social work. The scheme will start in 2016 and we invite HEIs who share our values of investing in citizens to work in partnership with us to deliver this programme. The successful HEI must be located within convenient travelling distance for our employee/students and/or deliver its social work programme at such location (we would expect this to be within Greater London). It is our intention hold joint interviews with the successful HEI during December 2015.
