Environmental protection system for transportation of vehicles & high value equipment.

Tarpaulins, sails for boats, sailboards or land craft, awnings, sunblinds, tents and camping goods. The UK MoD has a requirement ranging between 500 - 2000 COTS/MOTS Military standard environmental protective systems (to include spares and support for 4 years plus options) for the transportation and storage of vehicles and high value equipments.The proposed solution will provide external climatic protection plus an internal and external corrosion protection system for the vehicles/equipment when in storage, parked outside or in transit.The system, therefore, must be capable of being installed in such a way that the equipment can be protected whilst on a train flat-bed, DROPS-type vehicle, ship deck etc.1. The system shall be simple to fit/install and remove from the equipment.2. It should provide protection against corrosion caused by environmental conditions including high humidity.3. It is required to be waterproof, windproof, breathable, UV resistant, fire resistant and tear resistant.4. Consideration should be made to securing points that shall incorporate suitable straps/hooks/buckles/ties/bungees fitted as necessary.5. Compliance with DEFSTAN 00-35 Environmental Handbook for Defence Materiel Part 4 Natural Environments is mandated for climatic categories A1 – C1.6. The system shall be capable of fitting / removal by two 5th to 95th percentile and any individual item must not weigh more than 30 kg.7. The system shall be packed and supplied with its own stowage container/bag suitable for transport on the vehicle.8. The system shall include fitting/operating and equipment care instructions.9. All design drawings are to be supplied IAW DefStan 05-10 Product Definition Information.10. Contract award is anticipated in March 2014 with the full qty of 500 - 2000 systems packed and delivered to DSDA Donnington by the end of May 2014. Staged delivery will be accepted.In addition to the mandatory information required at Section III in support of the EOI, the MoD are willing to accept the receipt of promotional material, details of previous experience, qualifications of standards achieved and any relevant testing data with your expression of interest.The MoD intends to invite suppliers selected to participate to attend a viewing of the relevant vehicles and equipments during the ITT process, at a date during October or November 2013 at a location within the UK.The issue of this advert is not to be construed as a commitment by the MoD to place any subsequent order as a result of the tendering exercise.The MoD is unable to consider late or incomplete expressions of interest.
