Clinical Waste PME
Descriptions
The contractor is responsible for the associated administrative duties, collection and disposal of all clinical waste from service users either at a pre-agreed frequency, or on an ad-hoc basis, depending on service user needs.
The contractor shall provide all staff and equipment to deliver the services. The contractor shall manage any sub-contractors engaged to support the delivery of services in the manner of a collaborative partnership.
This service is a critical component of the TDC’s paid-for clinical waste collection; the existing contract expires on 31 December 2025. The service is statutory under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and relates to the safe handling, collection, and disposal of hazardous clinical waste from residential households.
The purpose of this procurement is to secure a reliable, suitably qualified, licensed and efficient partner who will be responsible for the administrative management, timely collection and disposal of household clinical waste from domestic households within the district of Tendring.
