Descriptions
Marketing Birmingham is the area’s strategic marketing partnership, which focuses on three business areas (i) investment, (ii) the visitor economy and (iii) strategic marketing. For more information please visit – www.marketingbirmingham.com The company is funded by the public and private sectors, and acts as an economic development and promotions agency undertaking long term Service Level Agreement contracts. Clients’ examples include: Birmingham City Council; the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF); Finance Birmingham and Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership. Alongside this, Marketing Birmingham also is commissioned on a project by project basis by clients across the Midlands areas. These can range between consumer and business activity, across sectors and geographic markets (regional, domestic and international – with more focus on the latter two territories). The ERDF funded Investing in Greater Birmingham project aims to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and UK/EU expansions into the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) area. It will deliver a coordinated and integrated programme across the project area focused on attracting both high job creating growth industries and knowledge intensive investments, with a particular focus on SMEs and larger investors which tend to attract a supply chain of SMEs to an area. This project is partially funded by the England 2014 to 2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme through its ERDF Investing in Greater Birmingham Project. A comprehensive evaluation of the Investing in Greater Birmingham project is required to assess the extent to which: •The programme has met its strategic objectives and the aspirations of partners •The programme's funds been spent effectively and the programme has been successfully delivered •The programme has met its contracted output targets, helped address identified market failures and delivered strategic added value •The evaluation should also identify any practical lessons which have been learned from the programme and make recommendations for future delivery Please refer to the tender brief for full requirements, process and timescales.
