E-Scooter Trials within the West Midlands

Descriptions

WMCA is pleased to announce an opportunity to take part in an exciting trial of E-Scooters within the West Midlands. In a wider initiative to promote walking and cycling as part of a green and healthy recovery from COVID 19, the Secretary of State for Transport announced the acceleration of E-Scooter trials. This Trial represents an opportunity to understand the potential role of electric scooters in the mobility ecosystem of the West Midlands. The Department for Transport (DfT) issued further guidance for undertaking E-Scooter trials on the 8 June 2020 and this guidance and any subsequent national guidance and/or legislation will also directly inform the design, implementation and operation of the Trial. This notice seeks to inform the market of this early opportunity and to provide details of how to respond to a market consultation opportunity. RESPONDING TO THE CONSULTATION Please register your company on our e-tendering portal (Bravo Solution). Instructions on how to register are located at: https://www.wmca.org.uk/media/1692/wmca_etendering_supplier_registration_guide_2016.pdf Further key detail around expressing an interest in this Exercise are listed below: Portal Website: https://wmca.bravosolution.co.uk Bravo Solution project_350- E-Scooter Trials with the West Midlands Bravo Solution Response Reference: pqq_116 - E-Scooter Trials - Market Consultation Response Only - NOT EVALUATED Once registered on the portal, please access Project_350 on our e-tendering portal and respond to PQQ_116 in order to provide a response to the Consultation Response Document. The PQQ also includes the 'WM eScooters Commercial Outline Document' which seeks to set out:  the proposed commercial terms of the Trial;  certain questions that Operators are requested to respond to in order to assist the development of the eventual Trial. Operators should note that the terms of the Trial may be altered and supplemented at the sole discretion of the Procuring Party. This is not a formal PQQ or expression of interest in a tender exercise. It is to be used purely for operators to submit general information to WMCA and to express interest in taking part in a Market Consultation exercise. Following the Market Consultation exercise, feedback from the event will be considered and built into the wider tender opportunity, which is expected to be published in July 2020. The deadline to respond to this consultation opportunity is 17:00 on Tuesday 23rd June. All responses must be submitted within our e-tendering portal.
