Establishment of a temporary dialysis facility on site at the Victoria Memorial Hospital, Welshpool, Powys, SY21 7DU.The Renal Networks of Wales are seeking a partner to provide a temporary facility in which haemodialysis can be provided in advance of a permanent dialysis unit planned to open late 2011 / early 2012.This scheme has been nationally prioritised to meet the challenges of local access and development of services in Wales. Currently 22 haemodialysis patients travel to the dialysis unit in Shrewsbury. The plan is to repatriate the majority of these patients as appropriate.Requirements are:•To prepare site for the temporary facility; to include services electricity water and gas.•A temporary facility that contains a water treatment unit and can provide for six to eight dialysis stations;•Minimum activity of 10 patients repatriated i.e. 1560 treatments;•The facility should include space for: Waiting room for patients; Examination room; Disabled access and toilet; Reception Area and Storage areaClinical and support services including nurses are to be provided by or via the Regional Renal Centre in Wrexham, with the contractual arrangements via the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board..
