ET23_001_ASTT - Acoustic Signal Transmitting Tags for Insertion in Live Salmonid Fish

Descriptions

Loughs Agency are looking for Acoustic signal transmitting tags for insertion in live salmonid fish, sized for Atlantic salmon and Sea trout smolts.Tenders are invited on the basis of their ability to provide the equipment requested as outlined in the specifications. All costs including shipping, import duty, taxes and VAT should be clearly stated. The requirement is for a minimum of 146 tags to be purchased in March 2023 and to be supplied no later than 10th April 2023.The acoustic tags must be programmed to transmit individual coded identifying signals capable of being recorded by receivers detecting a frequency of 69 Kilohertz, to the current standard code maps 113 and 114 for acoustic tags. The tags must have transmission detectable range of at least 150 metres under low noise conditions in calm inshore waters. The tags for salmonids smolts must allow to study migration of wild Atlantic salmon smolt down to 13.5 cm in length and for periods longer than 60 days. The tags for salmonids smolts must have an interval between individual signal transmissions e.g. between 30 to 180 seconds, the exact interval configuration will be specified at the time of order. The tags for salmon smolts must have an option at order of specifying pulse delay or coded ID, type of encoding, transmitting frequency and the average delay for ID transmitters e.g. selectable signalling periods with on-off switching. The tags for salmon smolts must be compatible with and fully detectable by existing stocks held by AFBI and the University of Glasgow of VEMCO VR2W, VR2Tx and VR2AR underwater receivers.
