Evaluation of Diversity in Democracy Programme
Descriptions
The Welsh Government wishes to contract for the provision of an independent evaluation to assess the aims, processes and outcomes of pilot programme, Diversity in Democracy. The programme comprised a number of initiatives intended to increase the diversity of candidates (both from diverse backgrounds and with protected characteristics) standing and elected to local government in Wales. This evaluation should seek to understand the extent to which the Diversity in Democracy programme has been effective in increasing diversity in local government and provide recommendations to inform the future design and implementation of similar initiatives. Bidders should have knowledge and expertise in equality and diversity policy and practice and consider how best to engage seldom-heard’ groups through the evaluation.
