Evaluation of the Degree Apprenticeship Pilot

Descriptions

The Welsh Government wishes to commission an evaluation of the pilot of the Degree Apprenticeships scheme. The potential value of the evaluation contract is estimated to be £70,000 with the work being carried out over 24 months.Degree apprenticeships are formed in collaboration between employers and universities or colleges and are currently available in Wales for people who are looking to start careers in IT, engineering or advanced manufacturing. Degree apprentices work throughout their degree, spending part of their time at university and the rest with their employer, developing the skills and knowledge needed to excel, both in university and in their work role. The employer covers the cost of their wages and Welsh Government offers support with university tuition fees. Anyone in Wales who meets the university entry requirements for the degree apprenticeship can apply. For more information see: https://gov.wales/degree-apprenticeships-offer-best-both-worldsThe evaluation will explore the intended benefits and outcomes for employers and individuals; gauging how the design, delivery and demand for the programme could shape future Welsh Government investment. Understanding the value and impact will be contextualised against driving parity of esteem, widening access and participation, providing alternative routes for learners into Higher Education and social mobility.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=93158.
