The Evidence Based Parenting Programmes contract is a way of commissioning parenting intervention resources to support vulnerable families in Denbighshire through the Families First programme.The provider of the service will deliver evidence based parenting programmes, which are structured and led treatment programmes that encourage parents to reflect on and modify their own behaviour, while supporting them to develop positive reinforcement approaches to influencing their children's behaviour. In general, these programmes are derived from concepts of social learning, operant conditioning and applied behavioural analysis and are supported by evidence which often includes clinical trials and peer-reviewed academic studies.The service provider will ensure families are able to access and engage with parenting programmes. For example, the provider will ensure venues are accessible to parents, and will provide crèches where appropriate and relevant.The provider will support people with parenting responsibilities to improve their knowledge, skills and confidence and will support them to be good parentsThe provider will support parents and children in a flexible way, tailoring their approach when necessary.The provider will help to provide parents with the information, advice and assistance they need to look after their own well-being and the wellbeing of their children.The provider will complement and contribute to the support families receive to look after their own well-being, and to achieve the wellbeing outcomes they identify.The provider will support families to identify and deal with the root causes of problems so that they continue to make progress after they have completed the programme.
