Exeter City Council has appointed a full design team led by the Successful Bidder to deliver feasibility, consultation, scheme design and detailed design of a proposed new leisure facility in Exeter city centre (the ‘Project’).The vision for the Project is to create a state of the art indoor municipal pool and leisure centre, with a potential facility mix including:— 25 metre, 8 lane competition pool with a fully sectioned moveable floor along with spectating facilities (minimum capacity of 250) for events;— 20 metre, 4 lane training pool with a moveable floor;— small leisure water area, plus children's fun water features, and a wet play area;— minimum 100 station fitness centre;— 3 studios that offer versatility for use as a workout (aerobics, yoga and pilates, spinning) and meetings;— seminar rooms;— health suite to include sauna, steam room and relaxation areas;— small coffee and snack bar area;— bouldering wall;— children's soft play area;— creche facilities;— changing rooms;— storage areas;— potential spa area; and— staff and management offices.
