3Specific requirements 3.1The Contractor will perform a study to generate further research data on the persistence of CA organism to compliment data previously generated by IZS under projects SE2203 and SE2209 (Contract Ecm 48124). 4Objectives The Contractor will conduct further research to achieve the following objectives: 4.1Objective A: -Assess ticks (with potential to extend to biting insects) as carriers of Ma. -Determine whether Ma survives blood meal ingestion. 4.2Objective B: -Assess survival of Ma under natural external environmental conditions and in the presence of disinfectants.
