Design, manufacturer and installation of a signage scheme in Pant Industrial Estate, Merthyr Tydfil. Expressions of Interest requested by Tuesday 26th January 2010Brief issued to interested companiesResponses to the brief are to be submitted by Tuesday 9th February 2010Short-listing will be completed by Friday 12th February 2010Interviewing Candidates will take place on Friday 19th February 2010 with the contract being let as soon as possible thereafter.All works for stage 1 Design are to be invoiced by March 21st 2010Stage 2 Manufacturer and installation by end of February 2011Clarification has been sought on a number of points specifically:Q:I assume the following items will be included:i. Design of signs and foundations in line with sketches;ii. Attendance at 2 design meeting;iii. Preparation of drawings and documents for up to 21 LPA applications;iv. Attendance at 1 planning meeting;v. Obtaining utilities apparatus information.I assume the following items are not included:i. Obtain WAG approval for signs;ii. Negotiation and arranging potential diversions of utilities apparatus and / or marking apparatus on site;iii. Checking Welsh Translations;iv. Safety Audits;v. Site surveys;vi. Ecology;vii. CDM Coordinator;With regard to sign lighting, the specification states that polycarbonate panels should be internally illuminated. However there is no reference to lighting if a steel colour panel is used. Will the steel face rely on reflective values or should I include for external lighting.Answer In response everything in the 1st section is included also Safety Audits (price for 1 entrance sign and 1 directional sign)site survey and CDM Coordinator should be included. WAG approval diversion of utilities, checking Welsh Translation and Ecology is not included. Include lighting for the signsQ Can we havce a copy of the entrance sign for the dry stone walling? A Although this nis iindicated as available it is not at the current time. As soon as it's available it will be posted on this site.Q Do we need to create an opening in the dry stoine wall to install entrance signs and if so are we required to make good?A There are no exisating wall. All wallls will be constructed as paret of the contractQ There is a drawing for an estate map. Where is the sign located( wall free standing ) What construction method/ material? Is it to be illuminated?A It is a free standing sign, post in concrete. The final location is yet to be determined although it will require planning consent. Material will be coated steel or dibond road traffic/aluminium panel.
