Descriptions
Wrexham County Borough Council are looking to commission a specialist nursery service, for disabled children, with an appropriately registered and suitably experienced nursery.The nursery will be supported by WCBC through provision of assessed equipment / adaptations to meet the disabled children’s needs.Specific equipment/adaptations that will be required include:1)Ceiling track hoistH frame to be fitted in communal areas and bathroom to enable a child to be hoisted from a seat, from the floor, from a changing table or platform.Consideration should be given to the weight limit of children and type of control.Type of ceiling track suggested would be the Invacare Robin2)Provision of a changing facility within a bathroom areaThe changing table should be:accessible by hoistbe either drop down from the wallbe height adjustable if feasiblehave guards / cot sides3)Provision of a children’s accessible toilet that meets Part M regulations. Toilet and height of furniture to be child specific.The nursery will be expected to be wheelchair accessible throughout and the layout of the premises should enable turning circles of a minimum of 1800mmThe nursery’s recruitment procedures will be expected to be thorough and all staff will be expected to have completed appropriate DBS checks.
