External Roof refurbishment of Houses and flats in the Torfaen area
Descriptions
•External Roof Refurbishment of houses and blocks of flats located throughout the Borough of Torfaen to include the following areas: •Blaenavon, Pontypool, New Inn & Cwmbran•Replacement of failing roof covering materials to houses and blocks of flats to include ancillary goods e.g. fascias, soffits, bargeboards, guttering, downpipes and connected services. •Improvements to energy efficiency in compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document L (Conservation of Fuel and Power) and Approved Document F (Means of Ventilation).•Contractors should be able to demonstrate how they make a contribution to the local economy and support Community Involvement.•Contractors may be required to co-ordinate the provision of photovoltaic’s and solar hot water systems into the new roofing systems.•To improve ‘U’ Values and protect structural integrity up to 400 properties.•Improve the appearance of the properties and local community.•Reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.•Demonstrate achievable targets for completion within the financial year.•The works will be packaged into contracts of a size to ensure effective delivery of the programme in a manner compatible with Bron Afon’s aims and values.•The appointed contractor will act as Principal Contractor where any work coincides with e.g. external rendering and will be responsible for health and safety in line with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
