The main objective of the Procurement is the identification of suitably qualified and experienced bidder(s) drawn from the public, private or voluntary sector (or a joint-venture combination thereof) to deliver to patients and referring GPs, a broad range of planned elective, non-elective, diagnostic and screening services that are fully consistent with the requirements of the NHS Constitution The Contracting Authorities will undertake a fair, open and transparent procurement process as part of its commitment to achieving the development of high quality services which represent value for money and the wise use of public funds. THEMES OF THE SERVICE Lot 1 – Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Treatment Centre Services Diagnostics - The tender will include, but is not limited to X-rays, Ultrasound, Echocardiograms Endoscopies, Cardiac event monitors (Portsmouth CCG only) and any additional diagnostic tests which may later be jointly agreed. Commissioners will also be looking at additional diagnostics that will compliment any outpatient or day case procedures that are included in the tender. The service will provide diagnostics for both GP direct access referrals and for the Minor Injuries Unit Outpatient Services - The service include a range of community based outpatient services, including pre-operative assessments and follow-up post-surgery as well as part of a one stop triage and assessment service. Community Services – The tender also includes a Community Ophthalmology, Community Dermatology, Community Audiology and Community ENT Service. Commissioners will also look to explore potential innovative solutions to the delivery of other specialties via a community setting such as Gynaecology and Urology. Day Case Procedures - As part of the service, the successful bidder will be required to provide a number of day case procedures which may be focused around the following specialties: General Surgery, Dermatology (minor skin procedures), Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Non – Trauma Orthopaedics, and Urology. Minor Injuries Service - The successful bidder will be required to provide assessment and treatment of minor injuries such as non-bony injuries, wounds/lacerations, minor eye conditions, simple fractures, removal of foreign bodies and minor head/facial injuries. Minor Ailments Service – The tender will include a service for the treatment and advice of patients with minor ailments.
