It aims to reduce the number of families requiring more intensive and costly interventions by delivering integrated, preventative and protective support.During our first event, held on the 31st January 2014, we engaged with current and potential providers to outline our intended approach for the Commissioning of Families First along with the national and local context. We also consulted on a draft Commissioning document which contained outline for Service specifications for the programme. This event will provide an update on progress with the commissioning of families first following the first event and engage with potential and current service providers on draft service specifications for the programme.Carmarthenshire will be welcoming consortium bids and are the first authority in Wales that is formally making use of guidance and tools in the newly-published Guide to Joint Bidding ( for further information please see: http://wales.gov.uk/topics/improvingservices/bettervfm/publications/jointbidding/?lang=en)As well as making use of this written guidance, this also means that both the authority and potential bidders will be supported to ensure that consortium bids are not disadvantaged in the procurement process.
