"Southampton City Council invited bids from service providers with relevant experience and ability to deliver a perinatal peer support service Programme for male parent carers, from pregnancy through to the child being 19 years old. The overall aims of the service will encompass the following; •Promoting positive early relationships and perinatal mental health support. •Normalising and de-stigmatising conversations around mental health and parent-infant relationships difficulties that may occur. •Providing emotional and peer support to ensure that male parent carers who may be experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues have a peer support network to turn to. •Ensuring marginalised communities such as the black and minority ethnic community have specific support tailored to their needs. •Working closely with the Family Hub networks, taking referrals for peer support and referring on when other needs emerge."
