Children & Young People’s Partnerships were established in response to the statutory requirement for closer co-operation and partnership working between local authorities and other organisations to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. Families First is a Welsh Government key programme for delivering better integrated support for families living in or at risk of living in poverty. Its principal focus is supporting families through interventions at the preventative and protective stages. ‘Families First’ aims to drive improvements to family support design and delivery and in doing so reduce the number of families developing more complex needs and requiring more intensive and costly interventions.This is programme one of six programmes.Objectives: Programme 1: Family Learning and Engagement: To enhance skill and confidence levels amongst young people, parents/carers and the extended family to widen their opportunities and increase their chances of finding suitable employment and progressing within that employment. The contract will run until March 31 2014 with an option to extend.
