Awarded

Family Training and Navigation Service (Neurodevelopmental Conditions)

Descriptions

This Notice is to inform the market of the intention to directly award a 24-month contract to Amaze for the provision of a Family Training and Navigation Service for NHS Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group ('the CCG') from 23rd August 2021 to 22nd August 2023 This is a new service being undertaken as a proof-of-concept pilot programme. The intention is to directly award this contract to Amaze as the current provider of the associated existing pathway of care. The CCG feel they are therefore best placed to deliver this pilot programme, with the existing infrastructure, staff, relationships with people with lived experience and, in-depth knowledge of the current pathway. This programme focusses on understanding the support needed by families and carers of children and young people with the above conditions which has been identified through; a local development group, feedback from existing providers of services and specific feedback from families and carers. The pilot intends to achieve the following for families and carers. (i)Support to navigate the health and social care systems of - assessment, diagnosis, and treatment and (ii)Providing access to and delivering specific training, workshops and information relating to the conditions described above. Commissioners anticipate that development and delivery of this programme will improve the experience of families and carers and will further support improved health outcomes for them and for their children and young people. This is a highly specialist and focussed area of delivery supporting an existing pathway of care. The CCG intends to award this contract to Amaze to facilitate the uninterrupted and improved delivery of the pathway. The pathway supports the following CCG plans and ambitions: NHS Long Term Plan, the Local Transformation Plan for Children and Young People (LTP), relevant recommendations from Foundations For Our Future and NHS Mental Health Implementation Plan 2019/20 - 2023/24. It will also support Brighton and Hove City Council's Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy 2020-2025. This award will provide a proof-of-concept programme which will be evaluated to determine the long term need for this supporting element of pathway. Lessons from the evaluation of this service at the end of the 24-month period will underpin the development of this area and inform the procurement approach for future service delivery. This proposal to directly award the contract is made in the context of meeting patient need, maintaining service delivery and quality and supporting the existing pathway to meet targets described in local and national plans detailed above.
