The Council is seeking to lead the regeneration of Fareham Town Centre by appointing a Lead Consultant to: • Build on the work we have already done to develop a Concept for the Town Centre that is viable and deliverable. • To provide a detailed assessment of Fareham Shopping Centre as a key asset in the town, both in terms of its existing function and its repositioning opportunity, to facilitate delivery of regeneration. • To provide advice that will assist the Council in determining the extent to which it should intervene in facilitating land assembly, by considering the benefits, shortcomings, and risks of acquiring or increasing its ownership stake in Fareham Shopping Centre to help achieve regeneration. • Outline the available delivery models and what role(s) The Council could potentially play in regeneration, together with available funding sources.
